Who I Am

I’m a healthcare executive professional with over 12 years of revenue cycle operations and leadership experience. I enjoy producing quality work and making a significant impact. I've been successful in working with healthcare teams to create and implement industry best practices to improve net revenue. I focus specifically on taking complicated tasks like reducing bad debt, contract negotiation, government regulations, payer audits, outsourced revenue management, coding and physician documentation and simplify them into processes that meet or exceed senior operational leaders expectations. I am passionate about creating a company culture where employees feel supported, appreciated, valued and as a result thrive and produce amazing outcomes.

RECENT CAREER EXPERIENCE

SENIOR DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE, EDEN HEALTH

June 2022 - Present

​Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, oversee coding, HIM, charge capture, CDM maintenance, claims, insurance and patient collections, cash posting and revenue integrity. Responsible for designing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure consistently successful revenue cycle operations as the company scales and grows.

DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE SITE OPERATIONS, JOHNS HOPKINS HOSPITAL

November 2021 - June 2022

Reporting to the Executive Director of Revenue Cycle, support, collaborate and educate pro-fee and facility leaders and staff at all levels within the organization to harmonize, standardize and stabilize Revenue Cycle operations across all divisions. 

DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE, MUSC FLORENCE MEDICAL CENTER

November 2018 - November 2021

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, provide leadership and strategic direction for revenue cycle for Florence Medical Center (396 beds), MUSC Marion Medical Center (124 beds) and MUSC Mullins Skilled Nursing Facility (93 certified beds). Oversee patient access, scheduling, central registration, financial counseling, pre-registration, ER registration, authorization, denial management, information desk, switchboard, resident trust account management and SNF billing (payer & private).

DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE, MILWAUKEE CENTER FOR INDEPENDENCE

May 2016 - November 2018

Promoted within six months to join the senior management team. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and board of directors, provided leadership and strategic direction for revenue cycle. Developed revenue cycle structure, created job descriptions and hired all staff that handled billing, credentialing and contracting, denials, coding and authorizations. In-house expertise led to cancellation of expensive under-performing outsourced revenue management company resulting in a significant cost savings.

REVENUE CYCLE/CODING MANAGER, ASCENSION/MADISON MEDICAL AFFILIATES

April 2012 - May 2016

Provided strategic leadership focused on change management for two hospital locations, Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee (300 beds), Columbia St. Mary's Mequon (182 beds) and 10 provider-based clinics. Areas of oversight were patient access, physician documentation audits and education, coding, billing, denials, customer service, payment posting and charge entry.
